About Us

Borne from its founder’s and principal’s (Bryan S. Priestley LL.B (Hons.)) experience comprising;

  • Six years (1987-1993) as 50% owner and managing partner of a Papua New Guinea Law Firm with offices in Port Moresby, Lae and Mount Hagen with 12 solicitors and forty support staff whose clients included:
  • AGC Pacific Limited, Hastings Deering (Pacific) Limited, Phillips Petroleum Company, Dunlop PNG, ICI Dulux, Travelodge PNG, Mobil Oil New Guinea Limited, ANZ Banking Group (PNG) Limited,  Credit Corporation (PNG) Limited, Kenmore Group.

  • Four years (1995-1999) as Special Legal Counsel at Hickey Lawyers (Gold Coast’s pre-eminent development and commercial law firm) specialising in the creation and implementation of acquisition and development strategies (incorporating taxation structuring and procurement of funding options) for major client’s property ventures;

  • Four Years (2000-2004) as 100% owner and Principal of a corporate consultancy business and boutique Gold Coast Legal Firm (Professional Edge Legal) that advised legal and accounting firms, merchant banks, major property developers and high net worth individuals and private companies;

  • The past nineteen years (2005 – 2024) have been spent successfully undertaking major property developments in Brisbane with major National players, establishing and managing an importing and exporting business, raising private equity funding for a number of innovative companies, providing each of the foregoing entities with wide-ranging corporate and commercial advisory services and assisting major groups in Papua New Guinea and in Australia in respect of matters principally arising from PNG's major Mining and Petroleum projects.

has evolved from the identification of a commercial need for clients to be provided with holistic management of specialist service providers in order to best take advantage of opportunities or overcome problems.


Corporate Partnering’s undertaking is to manage, on behalf of their client, the multi-faceted commercial, corporate, financial and legal issues and their implications that arise from the inception of a project through to its completion.

 

 

Bryan Priestley

The Principal of Corporate Partnering, Bryan Priestley, possesses combined legal, commercial and financial services experience totalling 36 years and Corporate Partnering is able to, in a cost-saving and results-orientated manner, instruct, review, manage and drive the multi-disciplinary team of professionals, project stakeholders and the client’s internal management in handling a project’s diverse and challenging range of responsibilities in a constantly changing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical issues quickly; through strong lateral and analytical thinking skills; awareness of current and evolving client needs.

  • Excelling in operating in a fast moving entrepreneurial culture and possessing a hands-on style and robustness to cope with rapid change and ambiguity.

A superior understanding of the law complemented by a deep understanding of the operations, functions and objectives of business, leveraged to assist clients manage their challenges, risks and opportunities, and allow them to have confidence in the decisions they make about the protection and enhancement of their wealth.
